So you have chosen Mykonos for your wedding. Excellent! Booked the venue and working on drafting an information pack for your beloved guests. One of the things your guests will surely want to do is ‘beach hopping’. The beaches in Mykonos are known for their stretches of golden sand, clear waters and a cosmopolitan aura, though one can find some unique quiet spots. Below is a list of our favorite beaches and places to eat on the island that should certainly not be missed. Share with your guests to ensure they make the most of their time on the island: Agios Sostis One of the most remote beaches of the island, Agios Sostis has been able to save itself from over-development and remains today an unspoiled, clothes-optional heaven. Don’t forget to take some water with you and lots of sunscreen! Completely untouched, laid back and peaceful. There are no amenities on this beach. For lunch you should try Kiki’s; locals have been trying to keep this a secret but word spread out. A traditional choice for delicious and quality Greek cuisine right on the beach. The must of Kiki's is the colorful salads while one can enter the restaurant and choose from a vast variety of products and combinations.
Lia A bit further out from Mykonos Chora but certainly worth the trip. Relaxed and with sunbeds, you will love this and certainly come back. Liasti Restaurant, with home-grown vegetables from the hidden paradise garden, fresh grilled fish and seafood and local delicacies is just the place for a relaxed meal.
Ornos This bay is great on those windy days and for families. It hosts some of Mykonos most famous tavernas like Konstantis (try the fresh fish) and Kuzina - where you can enjoy creative Mediterrenean cuisine, with fresh local ingredients, with a strong Greek character but also a tendency to fusion with surprising results!
Panormos Laid back and relaxed with beach pillows to chill on instead of sunbeds. So for those loving a clear beach this is your place. Great cocktails and delicious food at the one and only beach place (Panormos Beach Restaurant) where tables are placed on the sand.
Paradise Not only famous for it’s legendary party and gay scene, this beautiful beach is a must visit. Its latest addition: Jackie O On The Beach Restaurant-Bar boasts a large open-air bar, a 150-seat restaurant, private lounge areas, its own beachfront, swimming pool, jacuzzi and even a church. This restaurant serves admittedly one of the best hummus and tasty cheviche in the Mediterranean.
Paraga An absolutely beautiful beach with lounge chairs available to rent for a reasonable price. Everything stays mellow until around 4 pm and then the Kalua Beach Bar turns into a crazy party! It has a really nice vibe (things stay classy unlike many of the beach parties) and is a sure-bet for a good time!
Psarou This is probably the most popular beach on the island and a good choice on a windy day. It is one of the most luxurious and calm beaches a bit further away from downtown Mykonos. If you’re looking to sip on cocktails and soak up some sun, are traveling with family or prefer a more resort style beach in Mykonos, this is your spot! Of course be sure to check out Nammos which is considered one of the ‘must-visit’ beach lounge restaurant bars in the world.
Super Paradise The beach stays quiet but the beach bar gets going in the late afternoon. it’s a must see for party-animals while beach hopping in Mykonos. The beach party here at the Super Paradise Beach Bar makes for great people watching and the dancers are the ‘talk of the town’.
